We hope everyone had a nice three day weekend!
We want to start this week’s Dish, by extending a big thank you to Ashley Marcus for opening up The Studio and creating a welcome space for Mom’s Day/Night Out! Also, thank you to Ashley Jaffe for providing the beverages and to Robin Goldenberg and Shana Wasserman for organizing a fun mom’s event! We had a great turnout - thank you to everyone who joined!
Have you unplugged lately? Join us on January 22 for a school-wide initiative to “Disconnect to Connect” - a night to encourage mindfulness and family connection. To help facilitate this, there will be no homework for our STARRs. Instead, the school is asking that we have a night without screen time and engage in family togetherness (i.e. cooking, board games or other family traditions). Please see below for more information.
We know it’s cold, but save the date for our rescheduled Scoop for Our School Fundraiser at Smusht on January 28. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
We are so excited; February 1st kicks off literacy month and our annual read-a-thon! This year’s theme is “Driven to Read” and we have a ton of activities planned for our students in school and at home! Families can participate by creating an account and logging their child’s reading minutes throughout the month. Each week three lucky readers will have their names drawn from a hat to win a prize and at the end of the month the students who read the most will receive a gift card and a dedicated book to the library. Additionally, the class that reads the most collectively will win a pizza party and a book series for their classroom.
The read-a-thon is also a fundraiser for the Daly HSA. This year, we are raising money to bring a variety of activities and educational opportunities to the school. Please see below for more information and stay tuned for more details in the upcoming week.
Just Salad recently opened in Port and we’re partnering with them to raise money for the Daly HSA. On February 5, order from Just Salad and 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the HSA. Please see the flyer below for more details.
Finally, you should have received an email about the 2024-2025 School Year: Digital Resource Survey. Please complete the survey for each of your children, as it helps the district understand individual needs related to access to devices and the internet.
