Daly Families,
This year has gone by so quickly - it’s hard to believe that we are starting the last week of school!
Graduation is tomorrow (Monday, June 23 at 8:30 A.M.) for our incredible 5th graders! A huge thank you to the 5th grade teachers, class parents, and our 5th grade reps Maris Ackerman, Samantha Claster and Sloane Weiner for making their final year at Daly so special. We can’t wait to celebrate these wonderful STARRs and celebrate their bright futures.
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the amazing parents who planned an out of this world 5th grade celebration last week! Thank you to Gabby Goodman, Lauren Cohen, Alyssa Hattem, Michele Gabel and Orly Goldstein who went above and beyond to make sure these kids had a blast (rain or shine)!
It’s hard to think about school supplies, while we are racing to Friday, but school supply lists are available. If you order through SchoolToolbox, your supplies will be sent to your home and you’ll be ready for September. Daly receives a portion back from this method as well. You are also free to purchase the items separately, the list can be found here.
Finally, with only one more week left, we would like to take this time to thank our incredible HSA Executive Board:
Sarah Castro, our Vice President, spent this past year learning the “HSA ropes.” Between running our walk back to school event and Halloween parade, she has been the quintessential volunteer and will be an incredible junior president next year!
Ashley Jaffe, our VP of Communications, is the face behind all of our amazing flyers and communications! Special shout out to Michael Lewis who is ending his tenure as Editor and Chief of the Daly Dish and Nellie Sandler for all of her social media posts! Ashley, Michael and Nellie made sure that they got the word out for all of our HSA events and we are incredibly appreciative for their efforts!
Jenna Sigman and Alana Moses, our Treasurers, were absolutely incredible and made sure we kept track of all our expenses, appropriately planned our budgets and fundraisers, and ensured we paid all our bills. We can’t thank them enough for EVERYTHING they did this year!
Shana Wasserman and Robin Goldenberg, our VPs of Fundraising, have worked tirelessly to raise money for our students and the school. Thanks to all of their efforts running events like the Daly Social and Fun Run, the Daly HSA was able to fund field trips for our students, support enrichment programs (like Taekwondo), fund community events, cover supplies for the teachers and their classrooms, and much more! They truly did a remarkable job this year!
Amanda Lampard and Resti Ioanna, our VPs of Community Outreach have been the force behind Spooky Steam Night, Pride in Port, Multicultural Night and the many other events that are planned for the Daly community. They have been committed to building an inclusive and welcoming culture at Daly and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication.
Jamie Banks and Carly Elson, our VPs of Class Parents, have worked with all of our classes and class parents - helping to disseminate critical information and answering countless questions. They did it with energy, enthusiasm and always with a smile on their face! We thank them for their hard work!
Maris Ackerman, Samantha Claster and Sloane Weiner, our 5th Grade Representatives, partnered to make this year so special for our graduating STARRs. Between class trips, yearbooks, photo montages, RX Fit classes, a special field day and more, our 5th graders had a memorable year thanks to this all STARR team!
Kate Stefaniak, our past president, was always available to provide support and guidance for all HSA activities. Thanks to her leadership and foresight, we were able to continue and evolve the MANY activities Kate started last year. We are so grateful for her leadership!
(From Alli) Finally, as this is my last Daly Dish as president, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bella Wilkins, who has been the most amazing partner and friend throughout this year. She is creative, thoughtful and incredibly resourceful - we NEVER would have accomplished all we did this year without Bella's help and commitment. Bella’s compassion for each student is truly unmatched and you are all in the best hands with her and Sarah next year.
The last two years as HSA President have been one of the most rewarding experiences and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead this incredible organization. It has been a privilege to work with all of you! Thank you for all of your support this year!
Sincerely,
Alli White (allisonwhite614@gmail.com)
