DALY DISH WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 21-26, 2026

Good evening, Daly Families:

It was so wonderful to see so many of you at the Back-to School Mixer on Friday! Thank you to our fabulous event organizers, Sofia Christakis and Ali White, and to Lindsay Freed, Andrice Gittler, and Maura Walters for their participation at the 5th Grade Committee table!

This Friday, September 25, we’re inviting families to skip the bus for one morning and all walk to school together. We’ll have designated meeting points throughout the neighborhood so families can join along the way, connect with friends, and make the walk to Daly extra fun. Those meeting spots are at 7:30AM by United Methodist Church, and Shorewood Drive by Knoll Road, and at 7:40AM for the corner of Avenues B & C. We will all convene on the blacktop at 7:50AM. The HSA will be sponsoring complimentary coffee courtesy of Perk-Up Coffee Xpress – so start the morning with a little fresh air, some Daly spirit, and caffeine!

Once the kids are settled in, please consider joining us in the cafeteria at 8:15 a.m. immediately following the Walk Back to School for our first HSA meeting of the year! We will introduce representatives from SEPTA, AGATE, and have our very own  Ms. Laguarda onhand to lead the conversation. We will also be asking the Daly community to vote on the HSA budget for the 2026-2027 school year. This is our 2026-2027 budget for you to review ahead of the meeting. If you didn't know, the Walk Back to School is our building's official kick-off to Pride in Port, a full day celebrating our schools and the incredible Port Washington community—from the Hall of Fame inductions and varsity games to the parade, Family Fun Day and more! We are busy building our float... now all we need is YOU! All are welcome to march in the Pride in Port Parade on Saturday, September 26. Marchers should meet in the parking lot behind Carlo's Pizzeria at 11:00AM wearing their finest Dalywear or Daly blue. The parade begins at 11:30AM.

Speaking of Dalywear... the response to our new DALYWEAR has been awesome! Our online store is up and running for just a few more days, so be sure to place an order. A big thank you to our fashion-forward Dalywear committee, Shana Gelb and Heather Seigel.

It is a busy and exciting week ahead, with so many opportunities to showcase what makes the Daly community so special.
